No More Stations!

Our program would not be as successful as it is if it weren't for our fabulous volunteers.

We need volunteers in the following areas (e-mail both teachers if you would like to sign up now!).  We will provide training prior to your getting started! (If you have sent in a request, we have put your name in the charts below.):

  • Literature Circle Leaders (approximately 45 minutes 1 time per week)
6-12 needed  2 adults can share a book so that they alternate 'sessions'. Each 'session' is 5 weeks.  For consistency purposes, if you are sharing, you'll do a 5 week session with one group, then the other will do the next 5 weeks.
  • Station Leaders (approximately 75 minutes 1 time per week)
8-16 needed-we try to have 2 adults in each station.  It works best if you are able to volunteer EVERY week or EVERY OTHER week.
  • Morning Work Check-In (approximately 20 minutes 1 time per week)
    10 needed
  • Classroom Representative
    2 needed
  • Art Docent
As many as possible! (approximately 2 times a month)
  • Grading
All who are interested (we'll train interested parents to grade particular assignments).
  • Brown Bag lunch coordinator
    2 needed (monthly)
  • Bulletin Boards
All who are interested (as needed for mounting poetry, self-portraits, book projects)
  • Newsletter editor
1 or 2 needed-can alternate weeks.  (Wednesdays/1-2 hours-time lessens as year progresses and student editors are more familiar with job expectations)
  • Library helper (Wednesdays-20ish minutes-to help check in class books at the library.)
  • Native Garden Supervisor-Willing to help the class plant and weed.  Done whenever it works into the supervisor(s) schedule!
  • Substitutes (We'll take as many as possible!!  We will put your name and contact at the top so that volunteers who can't make it on a date will be able to directly contact you.)
